The Práctica VIP was the first “special event for ladies” in Buenos Aires; it celebrated its third anniversary in December 2025. I had already written about this event in 2023 in the German tango magazine TANGODANZA (No 4/23); you can find my article in both German and English versions available for download under the “Blog” menu item in the “Files” section. For a long time, the Práctica VIP took place as a small, intimate event at the Tangohotel Apassionata; the small dance room accommodated 10 women, who could dance every other tanda for two hours with up to 6 professional dancers. In an interview, the two organizers, María Lopez and Jesús Velazquez, gave me detailed information about their motivation for organizing such an event for female tango tourists in Buenos Aires.

Meanwhile, since 2025, the Práctica VIP takes place up to four times a week, from Thursday through Saturday, for two hours in the afternoon (at varying times). Occasionally, men also participate as clients, for whom female taxi dancers are arranged.
